June Astrology : 8 Days to Watch For

8 Days in June:
A solar eclipse, another Saturn + Uranus square, and an end to Mercury retrograde.

6.2 - Venus moves into Cancer

Venus is in Cancer from June 2 - June 27.

Venus, the planet of relationships, in Cancer, the sign of the home + family + nurturing. This is a sweet combination. One that propels us to pour into our relationships with those we consider family (whether they be biological or chosen). Venus in Cancer speaks of committed relationships, and the ability to feel safe enough with another person that we can take off our shells and be vulnerable. Safe enough that we can share our sensitivities and deeper emotions.

Who are the people that feel safe to you? Is there something you can do to nurture the relationship further?

6.10 - New Moon, Solar Eclipse in Gemini

There will be a whole post on this, but the new moon in Gemini on the 10th is a powerful solar eclipse. Gemini is the communicator of the zodiac, and is ruled by the planet Mercury (the planet of communication). At the end of last month, Mercury went retrograde, and this new moon solar eclipse will be conjunct Mercury (RX) in Gemini.

That’s a lot of jargon to say that the theme of communication will be strong during this time. How we communicate with others. How we communicate with ourselves. What our patterns and beliefs around communication are.

6.12 - Mars moves into Leo

Mars is in Leo from June 12 - July 29.

Mars is the planet that gives us drive, will, sexual appetite, energy, the ability to assert ourselves. Leo is the sign of the performer - it enjoys being in the spotlight and sharing its innate warmth and generosity. It’s also closely linked to creative self-expression.

While Mars is in Leo, it’s a good time to allow ourselves to be seen + heard. To be creative. To not be afraid to shine.

6.14 - 2nd Saturn + Uranus Square

The second in this series of 3 major squares. The astrological events of the year. A moment of tension that provides opportunity for major growth and change.

6.20 - Cancer season begins + Jupiter goes retrograde

Cancer season is from June 20 - July 22 this year. Shifting from outgoing + high energy Gemini into slower-paced, more introspective Cancer. There will be a whole post on this, but like I said above (re: Venus in Cancer), Cancer season is a wonderful time to pour into our homes and relationships with those we consider to be family.

Jupiter will be retrograde until October 17. It will move from Pisces back into Aquarius, where it will stay until December 28. Jupiter is the planet of abundance and expansion. It asks us to look at the big picture - to develop faith that there is a larger meaning to life. To recognize where we put unnecessary limits on ourselves, and to push past those limits.

When planets are retrograde, their energy is turned inward. They ask us to review, reflect, and reassess the areas of life that they govern. This Jupiter retrograde gives us an opportunity for deep personal growth and expansion.

6.22 - Mercury goes direct

Mercury retrograde ends! Only one more to go this year (and that doesn’t happen until late September).

Phew. A sigh of relief by many. Mercury retrogrades can be challenging on a number of levels (more on that here), but hopefully we can get to June 22 with a deeper understanding of ourselves and our beliefs. And then if we want to have that tough conversation or book a flight to Tahiti or put out a new offering, we have a window from June 22 - September 27 to do it. And we will (ideally) be more clear on what it is we want to do and why we want to do it.

6.24 - Full Moon in Capricorn

This month’s full moon in Capricorn will highlight the tension between relentless effort and the ability to nurture ourselves. How to go out into the world and make something of ourselves, while staying rooted in what really matters. How to find the balance between pushing ourselves towards greatness, while remaining connected to our emotions and sensitivities. How to be hard and soft at the same time. More on this to come.

6.27 - Venus moves into Leo

Venus will be in Leo from June 27 - July 21.

Venus in Leo wants us to radiate warmth and generosity within our relationships (and be seen and recognized for doing so). It asks us to take up more space, to invite in playfulness and joy and affection. To adore and be adored.
